We stayed at Ozgur and Jipar's house in Seattle, it is only 5 miles away from my Aunt's house. We didn't get to spend much time with them on Friday and Saturday but Sunday morning we had a very nice breakfast. Thier daughter Sezi is growing up so fast. She is not yet two but speak Kyrgish, Turkish, a little Russian, and a little English. In a year she'll be speaking better English than her classmates in daycare. Brenden also discovered cats and thinks they are really cool. On our way to the airport we met up with Larissa's friend Amber. We haven't seen them in 2 year's and Jim got to meet Brady (A fellow BEAVER!!!) and we both got to meet Elle for the first time (pretty sad on our part). We ate at Lunchbox labratory which is a great place to get a burger in Ballard. Amber and Brady had very cool OSU jackets on that went well with Jim's OSU shirt. Happy times were had by all. :-)
We met in Seattle at Aunt Kim's for a near-thanksgiving family get together. Brenden got to play with some of his family and Aaron's old cars. He especially enjoyed playing with his great-grandma. He refused to take a nap and was a zombie by the end of the day. He was sound asleep by the time we pulled away from the curb.
Brenden's second Halloween. He get's it a lot more this year than last. He stil doesn't think much of going to the neighbors, but he loves chocolate. We went trick or treating with Forrest and Maddie after seeing Idaho beat La. Tech and become bowl eligible. (Oregon State almost pulled it out against USC and Boise of course beat up San Jose State) We went around our neighborhood then went to visit the Aunty and Uncle Bob (Thomas). It was a nice evening.
We had planned on going to Carter's Birhtday a while ago but it turns out that it was the same weekend as Uncle Duane's inauguration as University of Idaho president. Grandma was going to have to drive up to Moscow by herself and the swine flu was spreading and we didn'd have our shots yet, so to save a lot of worry we cancelled our flight and drove. We drove through Moscow and saw the inauguration (not a common event), then went to Brooke's house for Carter's birthday. It was a really short trip so we missed seeing ssome of the other Taylor's but we'd see them all in a couple weeks. Carter wanted an backhoe cake and that's what he got. It was really cool. It was our first time seeing baby Reese and Jim's first time seeing Taryn. Cousin Kelly (Backhoe cake icer extraordinaire) got engaged to Derek which is pretty cool. All in all it was a really good trip.
After Cannon Beach we headed to Cultus lake with a stop in Corvallis. We loaded up on Orange and had a really nice dinner with Tracy and John. Cultus was really nice as usual. I am really glad that we had the trailer because I think Brenden's intent was to get as dirty as possible. The dirt wasn't quite good enough so he sat in the dog water bowl to make sure he could really cake on the mud. After a great couple of days at Cultus with Grandma Deb we went to Cousin Brenna's wedding to Bill Warburton. It was a very cool wedding. They make a great couple. We also saw Jim's Uncle Dennis which was a special treat as it had been about 20 years. Let's just say genetics are strong. We are so lucky to have such a great family.
In September we took a week and went to the Oregon Coast. First we stopped in Haines at Jim's Aunt & Uncle's house. They live on a farm and Brenden loved it. He wasn't sure about hte horses but he loved playing with Martha's dog and loved tramping through the fields and through the gates. I'm just glad he didn't discover horse cookies. Then we went to Cannon Beach after a quick stop in Portland to see Uncle Chuck and Aunt Devin. Brenden loves the sand. Dad might be making a sand box next summer. We also braved Brenden's first ice cream cone.
This Summer has flown by. We went camping though not as often as we would have liked. Brenden got some new toys, of course and Larissa got a Patio Cover.
Since Brenden like playing with Kitchen stuff so much, we got him his own sink. Brenden helped dad put the sink together. It was hot outside, so Brenden stood in his ppol while he played with the new sink.
Two Vizsla's are two much for a family with a one year old. This Friday we gave Rossi to the Vizsla rescue. We'll really miss him, but they'll be able to find him a loving home that has more time than we can spare and he won't have to spend his days in a kennel. Currently he is staying in a foster home in Boise.
When we were in Portland we went to the children's museum. Brenden played in the water, played with gears, crawled around. Uncle Chuck even got a chance to play. They had a big pit full of shredded rubber for kids to dig in (Pretty Cool, and no mess). Ian and Alicia went also and brought their daughter Hanna. As you can see from the picture of Ian and Hanna, there was do it yourself face painting booth.
We spent the 20th through the 25th at Brownlee and it was SO nice. We had so much fun with family just relaxing, fishing and eating yummy food. Brenden had a lot of fun exploring around and getting really dirty as well as fishing! We all had a wonderful time and look forward to the next camping trip.
We all had a wonderful Mother's Day this year and it was awesome to have all of our family together. Mark, Lisa and the girls came for the weekend and it was so fun to see the girls and all the neices and nephews together playing. We also celebrated Sophie's Birthday!!! She turned 8 this year...I know where has the time gone. She had a cake, balloons and fun while it was a really nice day out to play. They also created some artwork on Grammie's driveway. Forrest is playing baseball this spring and so we have been trying to attend some of his games...there is a picture of him playing. We look forward to our time all together again. Look forward to pictures from our current adventure of camping at Brownlee Reservoir over Memorial Day. It should be nice and relaxing and we all are looking forward to it!
I traveled to Rathrum, ID to visit with friends and finally meet Miss Taryn for the first time since she was born in December. She is so cute!!! No everyone, it doesn't make me want another baby right now. I had fun loving on her though. We all met at Brooke's house and got to see the new house since it was built. I had a great time spending with friends and enjoyed playing with Carter and Taryn. Next time I will bring Brenden along to play with his friends. We made cookies and just hung out at the house which was relaxing and nice. We also celebrated Brooke's birthday...the big 29!! Next year will be 30!!! :-) I know what she will say too is that "She is the youngest" and she is right, Cora and me will turn 30 before she.
Adding to our adventures....we had so much fun visiting with them. Brenden had a lot of fun hanging out with his Papaw and Grandma Janet. He also got a great cowboy hat and fun toys! We hung out at the house having barbecues, swimming in the pool, and just enjoying hanging out in the San Diego weather! We also went to Laguna Beach and had lunch, Balboa Island and walked around. Overall we had a fabulous vacation away from Boise and didn't want to come home....but always back to reality..right? Love you guys and look forward to another visit!! Thanks for everything!!!
